Maya Knighton
Experiential Manager
Maya’s desire to travel and immerse herself in the experiential world stemmed from her upbringing in a small town in Northern California. She’s an explorer at heart which led her to venture up (even more) north where she graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Public Relations. Maya spent the summer of 2018 studying abroad in Siena, Italy where she immersed herself in a wine marketing program and lived out her Eat Pray Love experience. This fueled her love for travel and meeting new people. Now a resident of San Francisco, Maya adores exploring her city and is always looking for the next music festival to attend (and deeply examine from an experiential lens).
What's your dream event to attend?
Lollapalooza Paris or Oktoberfest. I’m always down for a festival with good music and good food. Both of these events would be incredible to attend. Plus, everything is better in Europe!
When did you realize you had a future in experiential?
Every moment I spent in Italy. I went on wine marketing excursions all throughout Tuscany, where each wine was paired with the winery's story. The experience left me feeling nourished (with good wine) and also inspired to make others feel something bigger than an event itself.
What events and experiences did you miss the most during Covid?
Live music and sports. There’s something about being in an energized crowd that feels dreamlike. The atmosphere connects you with strangers and reminds you that we’re all just here to have a good time. I also missed rooting for my Oregon Ducks!
